Summer Flowers

Hello Sweeties!

How was your weekend? To make your Monday a bit sweeter let me show you this colourful flower manicure. It took me quite a while to do it, but I think it was totally worth the effort.

Unfortunately I only have two of these stampers so I wasn't able to make the decals for all my nails at once. I transfered a mixed flower design on both ends of my stapmers and filled them in with different colours. I used all catrice polishes, but I did not write each one of them down. (I think I used about 10 or 12 different shades from yellow to purple.) Last but not least I added a few dotted purple lines to fill in some gaps.
Once that had dried for a few minutes I painted on a clear coat and let it sit there for the night. The next day I peeled them off and did the same thing again. While the second batch was drying I painted my nails white (catrice - Isle of White).
I then started to measure the first decals to my nails (I had four for five nails!) and cut them into shape. Once I've placed them on my nails and cleaned up any excess I sealed them in with Seche Vite. By the time I was done with that the second decals had dried sufficiently and I repeated the last few steps on my other hand.
I usually don't post pictures of my right hand, because I am never 100% satisfied with the outcome, but in this case I'll make an exception. Don't they look super cute?
They also look lovely with my orchids...
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and are up for a whole new week. Stay tuned for my monthly favourites coming later today!

How do you like this colourful design? Do you like flower nails?

Rival de Loop - GEL-like perfect Look - lady look

Happy Sunday Beauties!

Today I would like to share another of my newbies with you. This is Rival de Loop - perfect Look GEL-like - lady look (05). I am not too familiar with the RdL polishes, but I think the GEL-like line is relatively new.
For this beautiful, hot summer day I chose to show you this gorgeous hot pink. It has a great formula and was super easy to apply. The brush spread out widely and still allowed very accurate brushstrokes. I didn't have to clean anything up at all. And lady look is extremely glossy. This is two coats with no top coat and look how shiny it is!

The colour is a fuchsia pink with a hint of red, that is only visible in certain lighting. I usually am not the biggest fan of a full set of pink nails (baby pink is the worst for me), but this polish is wonderful and I would wear it like this anytime.

But as I am still trying out my new polishes I decided to add a little sparkle to the tips of my nails with RdL Young Glitter Nails - million diamonds (#04). I tried to paint freehand french tips. With the first coat they looked really sweet, but I wasn't quite happy with the coverage so I added a second layer wich made the tips look totally gooey and thick. I liked it better without the tips.

But the glitterpolish itself looks amazing. it has a clear shimmering jelly base that shifts from a blueish purple to pink and is packed full of small and medium sized hexagonal silver glitter. I have to use million diamonds again soon. I bet this would make a great manicure in combination with black.
What do you think of this manicure? Do you like the glitter tios, or do you prefer the pink on its own? Is this a shade of pink you would wear too?

flormar - Golden Orchid

Hello Sweeties!

How are you on this wonderful Saturday? Today I want to show you another one of my newbies from my Berlin Shopping Spree (Day 1 & Day 2). I discovered a flormar store and the lady working there was a real sweatheart. She was looking at me with big eyes asking me why I was buying so many polishes and I told her that I am blogging about polish and simply had to buy all these beauties when I get the opportunity. (We don't have a flormar store in Munich!)

I paid for my polishes, packed them into my bag and off I was when I heard her asking what blog I am writing. It took me a few seconds to realise she was still talking to me and I turned around a few meters away from the store and went back in. We laughed about it and talked some more. I gave her the name of my blog and hopefully she will stop by one day and maybe even recognize herself in this blogpost. (If you do, leave a comment! ;-D)
But now let's get on to the polish, that's what you've been waiting for, right? This is flormar nail enamel - Golden Orchid (394). I used one coat of claire's - Cloud (an off white creme polish) as a base because I was not sure if Golden Orchid would have good coverage. And then I layered two coats of the golden, sparkly polish over it. It turnes out that I didn't really need the base. Golden Orchid has pretty good coverage on its own.
The formula is wonderful. It spreads evenly and dries pretty quick. I love how sparkly it is. The crelly golden base is packed with iridescent microglitter that shimmeres in all the colours of the rainbow.

As an accent I added some drop shaped rhinestones in form of a flower to my ringfinger and a little pink flower shaped one to my indexfinger. The blueish flower I did like, but the purple one was a bit too much, what do you think?

In direct sunlight the glitter stood out best. My camera couldn't capture all it's beauty. But I still think it looks fantastic in those pictures. Imagine how gorgeous it looks in real life!
Have you ever tried flormar nail varnish? How do you like Golden Orchid? Is this a polish for you?

claire's - Neon Polishes & Advanced Stamping Accent

Hello Lovelies!

And a very Happy Friday! Today I want to show you a summer manicure that is perfect for the hot and sunny weather we are having again right now. For this manicure I used only polishes I bought in Berlin and shared with you yesterday (Day 2), plus a black stamping polish.
First let me show you how I created my accent nail: I used the advanced stamping technique wich means that you transfer a pattern to your stamper and then fill it out with your desired colours. Once that is dry you paint on a topcoat and peel it of 30 minutes later (or the next day. Just make sure everything is dry!) I also included a layer of white to make the neon polishes stand out even better. But I would not recommend doing that. It is better to paint your nail white before placing the decal on. In my opinion this makes the cleanup easier and prevents white borders.

Once you placed the decal on your nail in the right position press down gently and remove any excess. You can cut it down with a pair of scissors or remove it with acetone or polish remover. What I like to do is to press down against the side walls of my fingers with an orange stick and break off the excess. This only works with a very well dried decal so be patient! :-)
Once you're finished with cleaning everything up seal in your decal with top coat. Don't use too many brushstrokes or you might smudge your beautiful design. I used Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat wich in my opinion is the best top coat ever. It gives a wonderful glossy finish and dries rapidly. It also almost never smudges a design.

I painted my other nails with different neon shades. On my thumb I used the orange Stormy Day, on my pointer Cobalt. The pink on my middlefinger is called Rave and the green polish on my pinkie is Pinball. All the polishes required three coats to be opaque. The formulas were all very similar and very good. I had no trouble with the application and they dried fast.

For my decal I also used the other neon shades I purchased. The yellow California Girl and the purple Electric. Furthermore I used an apricot neon shade by the name Pastel Neons. I bought this one a day later so you will see it in part 3 of my Berlin series.
I topped off all of my nails with Seche Vite. I really love how this manicure turned out. I was not sure that I liked neon polish on my nails, but this manicure proofed me wrong. Maybe a full set of neon in one colour would be too much, but this way it is perfect for me.
I also love how the polish seems to be glowing in direct sunlight. The colours look so intense and are just beautiful to look at. On the polish bottles it says 'fluorescent'. I am not sure if that means they'd glow under a black light. Do you have any experience in that department?
Have a great weekend everyone and enjoy the sun! I sure will.
How do you like this neon summer manicure? Would you wear it like this or do you prefer in in one colour?

Oh, I almost forgot to mention wich stamping plate I used. It is the BP-31 plate from my Born Pretty Store Haul. I do have quite a selection of stamping plates but only a few of them have such great full nail patterns. I definitely have to get more of those! Any suggestions?

Berlin Shopping Spree - Day 2

Hello Loves!

I can not wait to show you the second part of my Berlin Shopping Spree. I had such a lovely time picking all of them out and it makes me smile and remember each time I look at one of them. Do you know the feeling? I love to buy polish on vacation!
Let's get started with the claire's polishes I bought. Usually their polish is between €2,99 to €3,99 for the 10mL bottle, but they all were on sale for only €2.-! And furthermore they had a special deal on everything. Buy 3 pay 2. So I ended up paying only €4.- for three bottles of polish wich is about €1,30 each. Amazing! My first picks were these neon polishes:
California Girl - Stormy Day - Rave - Electric - Cobalt - Pinball
(check out this mixed neon manicure)

Glazed Donut - Junk - Pomegranate/Mango
The yellow and blue glitter polish are scented nail polishes. I am really excited to try those!

Bouquet - #Metallic Red - Runway

From the new essence the gel nail polish line I bought these three:
brazil jungle (26) - va-va-voom (47) - my love diary (48)

p2 LE - caipirinha (010), essence The Metals - born to be wild (25), catrice LE Doll's Collection - Hide & Green (C03), RdL - lady look (05), RdL - million diamonds (#04),
p2 LE Beyond Lagoon - sunburst yellow (020)

Most of the polishes above were on sale too. I do not remember how much they were exactly, but I guess around €1,50. Except for the p2 LE ones. They were definitely not on sale, but they are not very expensive.

And then I discovered a flormar store in a shopping mall. I have read a lot about their nail polish online, but we do not have a store in Munich and I didn't even know there were stores in Germany. I was really excited to see, that they had many polishes on sale. I bought bottles for as little as €1.- up to €2,50. I will just write down the names/numbers below and will go into details when I swatch them. Some only have numbers on so I will have to find out if thes do have names too.
Golden Orchid (394) - Holographic Silver (392) - Electric Impulse (GG01) - Roll the Wheel (GG03) - Stardust (GG04) - Time Freezer (GG07)

Juicy Melon (SC08) - Lime Bonbon (SC04) - S04 - S02 - 060 - 239 - Blackstar Red (352)

What are your favourites here? I think I will try the neon polishes first as long as the summer lasts and move on to the darker ones in autumn. Wich polish would you like to see on my nails?
